I have a question I'd like to pose to the founders of Project Isthmus:

What do you make of Jahan's efforts to gain the upper hand in the conflict of the Obsidian Shield by using Stein Lightman and his Shaper Glyph knowledge?

I await your responses. :)

  1. We can't say if Jahan is acting with brilliant intent or with desperation. She doesn't have a lot alternatives to choose from.

Lightman was shifted to the Resistance way of thinking during the Persepolis anomaly. He lost his memory and doesn't have the experience of that to go on. It makes him susceptible to her arguments, thus she is more likely to be able to influence him in her favor. This means we need to be careful of whatever Lightman says.

That said, Lightman's body of knowledge still gives him the potential to be the current glyph expert. He just needs to read up on the specifics.

  4. M. K. Intriguing. Why do you think that?

  6. Mustafa Said Marius H Tronstad states in his last paragraph, "Lightman's body of knowledge still gives him the potential to be the current glyph expert. He just needs to read up on the specifics."

By now they've all had time to read up on what happened while they were in their recursive cycle...

  7. I don't know if we can say whether or not Jahan is brilliant, desperate, or brilliantly desperate. I do know that I'm still interested in anything Lightman has to say about the glyphs, though.

  8. The only thing I know is that Lightman was/is interested in Hank's thesis about 13Magnus. I think both (Jahan and Lightman) want to know more about 13Magnus, the artifacts and the glyphs. But I think they act in different interests.
