A SECOND key to the box was found!

A SECOND key to the box was found!

Well, this AM I received a Hangouts message from Nola Circuit that I was not expecting... I'd go so far as to say a message that probably no one was expecting?

I believe that Jennifer Brozek was able to discuss this already with flint dille .

Can't wait to get the key and verify it too can open the lock that was on the box...

  1. I did ask Flint about this second key.

This is what he told me, "We have no knowledge of the key.  Was it a counterfeit?  Was it a copy somebody made?  Was it supplied by whoever sent the box? It is probably not an accident that it was left behind. We are pursuing the theory that the Italian key came from a writer who died in Milan around the time it reappeared.  We do not know who transported it from Milan to Bologna and maybe we never will, though it would be interesting to find that out."

  2. This second key may open up the lock itself, as opposed to just unlocking it.

  3. We will have to try that. See what works. Thank you for the suggestion.

  4. Are the teeth identical on the two keys (photo comparison ought to be good enough to tell)?  If not there may be another box in the wild.

  5. Mike Wissinger it looks like it from the photos, but we anxiously await its arrival to test it in the lock

  6. Are there any markings, engravings or different stylized writing between the keys?   if both keys are together they make one saying or such.

  7. The key is traveling by secure means. Now that it is no longer in my possession I feel I can comment.

I have been mulling it over since I found it and there are 2 things that I keep coming back to.

1.) Is it somehow a copy of the original? If so, how was it done?

2.) Could there be another box/lock in the wild? What could it contain?

We know that the Obsidian artifacts are numerous and the total is unknown. We've already seen over 100 shards appear in the Scanner. I don't know enough about the age of the lock, but it could be that the lock maker created 2 identical locks or even several which were keyed to only the 2 we have. Again, this is all speculation.

  8. Tim Peiffer technically will still need to wait to see in person, but thats not the case with the first key. (I posted high res photos.) And from the photos Nola Circuit posted it dosent look like there are on that one either
