Is Niantic Trying To Tell Us Something?

Is Niantic Trying To Tell Us Something?

Yesterday we received a tip from Arcane Mirage that some of the anomaly bracelets included in the Rare packs at the various sites were different from the rest. Apparently this has started to be discussed in a few areas over the last couple days… Luckily we were in a position to verify if this was in-fact true – and it is!

The description of how to identify they (more) rare ones is – inspect the glyph to the right of the Aegis Nova text. We’ve provided pictures that show this, in both faction orientations.

What does this mean? Anything? Is it “simply” a variance in production? Is it intended to send a different message to those who have these alternate versions? Some of the most intense anilzation we’ve seen of glyphs, aside from Jennifer Brozek‘s Glyph Drill Down series has come from Ishira Tsubasa and Achim S.. We spoke with Ishira to see if she had any theories on this, and although she too was recently made aware of it – did not (yet) have anything concrete. What do the Project Isthmus community members think? Please leave your comments below. We will select two of the best theories we see and award an in-game passcode.

For the Investigation community we are providing lots of pictures of the bracelets. We did not have the luxury of having many VR bracelets to choose from – so we are not clear yet if there is any variance in those. In the pictures are all the combos of the bracelets together – including positioned with the VR ones.

  1. Hey, what's the drink in the background...? It's not Hint Water? :P

  2. Notice that the thinner (Rare package?) Bracelet fits over the top of the thicker VR bracelet and alines th tops of the hexs

  3. Based on the pictures, looks like they only align with VR bracelets. Were they meant to be worn together in order to increase exposure to the shaping?

  4. That is totally awesome! I studied my rare bracelet from Rotterdam and I read (blue) starting after "Aegis Nova": Chase War Unbounded Escape and I read (green) starting after "Aegis Nova": Evolution Harmony Chaos Contemplate

Even the glyphs seem to be the same but arranged in different sequences. So, if the glyphs are the same on every bracelet but the sequence exists in a few arranged versions I'm certain that the glyph sequences must be manipulated by someone or something. The Acolyte and Jahan are mostly interested in "manipulating" their factions. Oliver Lynton-Wolfe is the most gifted xm-researcher and ADA might be involved too.

  5. Thx Matt Stevenson I don't know why Akira Tsukasa is in my mind too. Maybe because PAC mentioned her only a few minutes ago.

  6. My second theory is that these different sequences may function like a cryptex to hide a secret message. Each unique bracelet combined to the others may lead to a new sequence that open the secret within.

  7. There was a post prior to the first round of Aegis Nova that mentioned the bracelets being "a decoder ring, of sorts" iirc

  8. Noticed that there are 3 (or more) different glyph sequence patterns as well once I received them. My guess would be that they are telling us our future and giving us a message how to 'shape' it. I will ask around if the vr bracelets are different but mine are all alike.

From left to right starting from Aegis Nova, each one reads...
    (blue side)
    • attack/war - pursue/chaos - escape - unbounded
    • attack/war - unbounded - escape - chaos/pursue
    • unbounded - escape - chaos/pursue - attack/war

    (green side)
    • harmony/peace - evolution/success/progress - contemplate - chaos/disorder
    • harmony/peace - chaos/disorder - contemplate - evolution/success/progress
    • chaos/disorder - contemplate - evolution/success/progress - harmony/peace

  9. In a conversation it was brought up about how two of the glyphs for each side have double meanings. I wonder what the importance of that is and with the chase/pursue one, it is the only one that's not in our scanners themselves.

  10. I'm glad to finally see these as the bracelets I have did not show this drastic difference. I was interested in whether or not the bracelets would be different at different sites and different days of the anomaly. With it being the same I wonder which sequence we are suppose to be paying attention too

  11. If the bracelets are this different we may need to examine the bracelets from every site that had them available. I've been trying to get my hands on the multiple versions to see what we can figure out.

  12. id like to call attention to the glyphs pursue/chase and evolution/sucess . I dug through my swag and found i had two of both common and rares I cant post the pictures here but ill post another thing to show it. the glyphs are in the exact spot on the bracelets. Like with the commons it shows up on the end on both the enl and res side. with the rares it shows up to the right of the logo on both the enl and rare. If you arnt wearing the bracelets, this makes it so you can see pursue/chase evolution/success twice on the rares but only see it once on the commons. Minor details i know but since no other glyphs are in the exact same spot i thought this was a detail that should be noted

  13. Anthony Fontana great info! Thank you for adding the one we were missing :-)

    ReplyDelete
  14. Ishira Tsubasa I was also wondering about the parts that "stay the same"... :-)

    ReplyDelete
  15. parts that stay the same tend to be the biggest clue to how to solve something. Now to determine if pursue/chase evolution/success are the main key here. If it is, in the secondary part of the the bracelets pursue/chase evolution/success is the first glyph you can 'decode'.

  16. Matt Stevenson You're welcome! I'll notify you if there are any other unique sequences

  17. Matt Stevenson It is the top one in the photo. Also, both Aegis Nova shields do not match up symmetrically to the opposite side...

  18. Anthony Fontana it looks like you have a third version?

    ReplyDelete
  19. l also notice theres multiple versions of the top band too.... https://plus.google.com/u/0/116260179700704401059/posts/AFzZ1nhU8Xr i apparently another version and its not in my swag box atm so i am looking everywhere in my house

  20. Ishira Tsubasa Yes, but only matches up to two of the glyphs with the vr bracelet that I have as well as the other 'common' one but matches up perfectly with all 4 glyphs with the 'rare' bracelet. Nice find of the other vr bracelet

    ReplyDelete
  21. It'll be a nice find once I find out where my two year old stashed it lol. Or one of the glyphers sends me pics of theirs. We should be able to line them up ourselves with just pics.

  22. A person mentioned on Anthony Fontana s post that there are possibly 16 different versions

    ReplyDelete
  23. Can't find it but I have pictures of it lining up perfectly with the one deamed the rare band

    ReplyDelete
  24. Ishira Tsubasa Haha uh oh, someones in trouble. So the sequences on both blue and green sides are true to each other and are not in any random order. I only have bracelets from two primary sites and waiting to see if the one I receive from another site is different

  25. Here we go, I knew I at least took pictures of it for the study Achim S. and I were doing on it. https://plus.google.com/116260179700704401059/posts/cmU4j5fxm3H

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ishira Tsubasa Awesome! I'll see if I can find a photo of another that differs from those of either rare or vr

    ReplyDelete
  27. I just posted this about the secondary band I have too that doesn't line up to either version of my thicker bands unless I change the position of it https://plus.google.com/116260179700704401059/posts/dMGtALz2Fqi

  28. I am wondering if the bands can help to decode clues in Nigel's letter. seeing as I don't have any bands it's kind of hard for me to try and test this theory out.
